Chana Messer

MesserTeaching at the university level for over 20 years in the fields of fine art, life drawing, oil and acrylic on canvas, and papermaking, at Parsons College in NYC and at UCLA, Chana turned her attention to advanced computer graphics and digital imaging, for which she has now been teaching some 15 years at UCLA, Otis College of Art & Design, California State University, and Santa Monica College.

Chana is the lead instructor for the UCLA Visual Arts Department, conducting specialized seminars in addition to ongoing courses. Similarly, she is the lead instructor at Walt Disney Imagineering.

Through her business, Mac-In-Art, Chana works in many fields, consulting on projects from concept to completion. Her projects include corporate identity, interactive multimedia design, web design, onscreen presentations, CD/DVD covers, magazine covers, movie posters and brochures for clients such as Warner Brothers, Sony, Disney, Universal, Mattel, Houlihan & Lockey, Nike, Apple, and Adobe.

Chana is part of the Adobe Professional Freelance Team, is an Adobe Partner and Adobe Community Expert, as well as the Southern California Adobe Illustrator Users Group Manager. She holds the following professional certifications:

  • Adobe Certified Expert and Instructor: Photoshop Lightroom
  • Adobe Certified Expert and Instructor: Illustrator CC
